Visual simulation technology is an important branch of computer simulation technology, brings together computer graphics, multimedia, artificial intelligence and many other key technologies. Using computer graphics technology, according to the purpose of simulation, construct three-dimensional structure simulation model of the object to reproduce the real experimental environment. In order to achieve realistic simulation results. Visual simulation technology has been widely applied in many fields, especially in military areas. It is helpful to shorten the test and development cycle, improve the quality of test and development and save the experimental expenditure.For a long time, because we can not do experiment frequently to test the tracking performance of optical measurement equipment, has seriously affected the tracking algorithm improved and the tracking performance improvements of the optical measurement equipment. The research on simulation of the shrapnel casting process, enable to reproduce field test environment realistic to simulate the shrapnel casting process. This allows designers to visually observe the whole process of shrapnel casting, flight attitude, and flight speed. It is conducive to testing and evaluation of tracking performance of optical measurement equipment.This paper constructed a simulation system based on High Level Architecture and introduced the theory and the characteristic of High Level Architecture, analyzed the main service and interface standard, and designed the general architecture and the form of federations. This paper discusses a method which is based on MFC and MultiGen Vega environment to develop a virtual reality simulation system, and elaborates development process. The simulation models of the cargo projectile are established with MultiGen Creator. According to the particular model of Shrapnel ejection establish the mathematical model of the system and defined a particle system to simulate the process of Shrapnel ejecting .Updates flight attitude and flight speed of the bullets and mother bombs real-time when the shrapnel triggers the ejection event in the scheduled throw-point. Simulation models are driven by MultiGen Vega. Special effects are added to the simulation to enhance the infectious and authenticity of the simulation environment. Finally, this paper introduced the development of theWhole simulation in visual c++ 6.0, a visual programming environment, and did some experimentation. The parameters of simulation system can be easily modified and the simulation results are shown directly, these make the tracking effects evaluation of optical measurement device easily.
