As rapidly as web technology is developing, web service as a distributed application technology is being more and more emphasized. As higher integration level and service performance is required, the attention of industry and academic research is transiting from individual web service to composite web services. Service matchmaking is an important precursor step of service composition. Semantic is a key technology in solving service matchmaking problems. Following such a trend, the research this thesis involves is about web service matchmaking based on semantic.Based on a thorough investigation of web service matchmaking related technology and research activities, this thesis refers to and semantically enhances current industry standards, and implemented them through the matchmaking link of service lifecycle to support service selection and composition which are latter links of service lifecycle. On the background of logistics, this thesis forms an integrated, highly realistic, compatible, and extendable service matchmaking framework, based on which in depth research on semantic annotation of service description and service matchmaking algorithm are carried on.This thesis constructed the logistics-related ontology. In the link of service annotation, the method which mapping service description and ontology is used to evaluate the degree of matchmaking between service and ontology. Suitable ontology is selected to be the extension of semantic. In the service matching algorithm design, semantic service is expressed formally, service tamplates and candidate service tamplates are defined. Service matchmaking is composed by category matchmaking, profile matchmaking and interface matchmaking. This three matchmaking problems are converted to the similar degree problem of semantic of ontology concept. Category matchmaking problem is converted to semantic related degree of concept of logistics service ontology; Profile matchmaking problem is converted to semantic related degree of synonyms, antonyms and abbreviations in WordNet; Interface matchmaking problems is converted to semantic related to calculation problem of the distance of ontology concept property. According to the matchmaking process, this thesis put forward a matchmaking algorithm-Distance of Ontology Concept Property based Matchmaking algorithm(DOCPM).
