Shanxi is a province lack of water resources severely, the management of water resource includes the factors of society, economy, hydrology, etc which needs to be dealt with large amount of graphics, word material and data. Therefore, it is a very heavy task. Computer technology has been widely used in the hydrologic information industry within the last 20 years. What's more, many new equipments and new technology had been applied to Shanxi's hydrologic information construction. Therefore,it has become an urgent need to develop a set of software for the inspection and management of hydrologic data under the Windows platform, with full featured and easy operation. This thesis will introduce a new system for better inspection and management, combined with advanced computer network communication technology, database, geological information system, three dimension simulation under the Visual C++ (Version 6.0) environment. The superiority of friendly interface and easy-to-operate will realize the convenient control of hydrologic information.In the proceeding of Shanxi's Hydrologic Data Monitoring and Managing System, we firstly analyzed the current situation of hydrological information at home and abroad together with the existing problems in the currently used hydrologic information management system of Shanxi Province, and a brief introduction consisted of database, Software Engineering, and 3D-Simulation Technology is also given. The target and design pattern of system is built according to the features of hydrological information management and actual conditions. The total analysis and design of system is based on sufficient investigation and research. The paper put forward the function design of both system and sub-system, using the method of software engineering. It also described the functions of all sub-systems in detail.In the frist chapters, the paper elaborates the developing target, design thread, technology line and system realization etc. Then it emphatically expounds the design of the attribute database and the spatial database, the realization of the 3D-Simulation Technology, real-time monitoring as well as the basic study of database management technology. Last but not least, it expresses the prospect of further research based on the obtained research results and developing practices of system.This system not only works stably but also is reduced costs. It can be promptly acquisited the conditions of measuring station, forecasted the waming, improved cost performance of the system. Therefore, the application of the system will be greatly promoted modernization of work about hydrology informatization. Believe that this system will be further acclerated development in the water conservancy.
