As a kind of common production equipment, Ball mill is widely used in the modern industrial production such as cement production, thermal power, mining, smelting ore and so on.In this paper,the milling system of a power plant as a background for the topic, based on the process and the working principle of milling equipment, according the proposed project control requirement, to reduce energy consumption and labor intensity, PLC control technology, industrial network technology and computer control technology are used to build IPC + PLC + Industrial Ethernet control system structure. Based on safe, reliable, practical, advanced and open design principles, the system overall design, hardware and software configuration has been studied and selected, eventually forming an advanced,feasible control scheme. For Control variable and controlled variable of the ball mill exists the strong coupling, pure time-delay, large inertia, and the mathematical model is difficult to establish, study and use the fuzzy control.For the project characteristics and performance requirements, use PLC as the system's controller, and use the hotstandby system in remote I/O service mode in order to improve the reliability. Industrial configuration software is utilized to realize monitor to the whole production control system. Upper and lower computer use low-cost, high speed TCP/IP Ethernet to communicate with each other; its open and flexibility facilitate the system's expansion and upgrade in future.For the multivariable and nonlinear characteristics of ball mill system, analyzed the characteristics of objects, and designed fuzzy controller, which is realized on PLC using ST programming language. Used the fuzzy control strategy for the ball mill outlet temperature, entry negative pressure and mill load three control system, to adjust and control the outlet temperature and entry negative pressure in stable condition. Under this premise, improve mill load as far as possible, in order to reduce powder consumption, and improve the efficiency of powder.Currently, the system has been running, which has reliability and good real-time, fully meets the design requirements and improves the automation level of production of limestone powder; achieves the objective of increasing production and reducing consumption of energy,so the study has certain theoretical and practical significance for the research and application of ball mill powder system.
