With the rapid development of information technology and change of forestry management model, it is a trend to develop the scene simulation system which is dedicated to forestry machinery, it can bring up a drivers with has good skill and skilled operator on condition that need not spend lots of money, to improve the quality and efficiency of harvesting. Grounding on the special project "'Research and development on multifunctional equipment with key technique of fostering and cutting combined operation", intended to develop an interactive, real-time strong, realistic visual scene simulation system.This paper analyzes the current development of forestry in China and put forward it is necessary to develop visual simulation systems for logging machines. And construct the joint logging machine Model on the basis of learning the virtual scene simulation software MultiGen Creator, during which full use of optimization modeling and optimization methods, and strive to achieve a minimum amount of data model information to meet the real-time rendering requirements. Finally, using MultiGen's Vega Scene driver software to initialize the 3D model which have been constructed and prepare simulation program to connected the external device with the virtual system, aimed at achieve real-time interaction with the simulation objects.Experiments show that the visual simulation system has a good immersion, basically to meet its objective for the training of operators. Virtual reality technology will be combined with forestry machinery not only build a highly efficient training platform for the forestry areas of training, but also establish a better system design platform for the future development of forestry research and other equipment, with far-reaching prospects and value of certain.
