In this paper, the research of waveguide circular polarizer in feed with high performance is presented. For waveguide circular polarizer, metallic iris circular polarizer in square waveguide, circular waveguide polarizer with a dielectric septum inserted and septum circular polarizer are included.Firstly, the research of dual band metallic iris circular polarizer in square waveguide is achieved with the method combining cascaded network and simulation using finite element, and the simulated and measured results are shown in this paper; also polarizer characteristics comparing with different number of iris are presented. The energy of high mode is analyzed; the influence of high mode is eliminated to minimum during simulation. This polarizer has a complicated structure and precise processing requirement.Secondly, a Ka and C dual-band circular waveguide polarizer with a dielectric septum inserted is dealt with, and for reducing the size of polarizer, a new method that changes the effective dielectric constant or the thickness of the dielectric septum is proposed. A circular polarizer is designed based on this structure, which operates in C dual bands, each covering a bandwidth of 500MHz, and the measured results agree well with the simulated ones. Also a circular polarizer which operates in Ka dual bands, each covering a bandwidth of 1.6GHz is designed and manufactured. This kind of polarizer has a simple structure, can be manufactured and adjusted easily.Finally, a septum waveguide polarizer is designed, which has the advantage of compact structure, good characteristics and easily to be connected. It combines the function of OMT and circular polarizer, and good performance is achieved.
