The international academic research on the quasi-optical mode converter has gradually been warming up. Almost 70% of the gyrotron use this power colleting structure, because it has high efficiency and can conveniencely separate the electron beam form the RF-wave path. Quasi-optical mode converter is very important for high power millimeter wave sources application. It usually consists of a waveguide-type launcher and multi-level reflectors. High-efficiency waveguide-type launcher is one of the most important components in quasi-optical waveguide mode converter. Its performance directly determines the efficiency of the system. Research for Quasi-optical mode converter technology has become more mature in other countries, but in our country it is at the initial stage. Because of the important role of the device, as well as the gap between domestic and foreign countries, study of the project becomes increasingly important. The first part of this paper research the Denisov quasi-optical mode launcher, the second part of this paper research the waveguide-type polarizer of gyrotron test system.Denisov quasi-optical mode launcher:Mainly research the fundamental theory and basic design methods of the Denisov quasi-optical mode launcher. First, using the geometrical optics theory analysis the radiation device works, summarize the coupled-wave equations and coupled-wave factor of the launcher, give the formula for calculating the waveguide walls power density. According to vector diffraction theory, write Denisov quasi-optical mode launcher numerical analysis program. At the same time, Selecte two papers which have been published as a reference. Finally using this analysis program calculate the frequency of 94GHz, the initial radius of 9mm of TE62 mode quasi-optical. Relative quasi-Gaussian distribution power density has been got in the waveguide wall.waveguide-type polarizer:First, according to the polarization characteristics of the basic wave theory, propose a radius gradient-type polarizer. And then using HFSS calculate TE21 mode circular polarizer of this type polarizer. The results show that the model is feasible. As the model of large size, after comprehensive consideration and trying , finally, selecting a relatively suitable electromagnetic simulation software calculate the 94GHz ,TE61 mode circular polarizer.
