With the social development and technological progress, the video surveillance system has been developed rapidly. The High-speed digital chips and Internet technology bring the video surveillance system into a digital, networked, intelligent age, which leads to it has been widely used in the area of transport, power, telecommunications and many other fields. The human being will go into the Post-PC era and have a new demand of Video services, the rapid development of mobile communication 3G networks and mobile phone technology offers us a favorable term. This article designs a embedded video monitoring system with the DSP-Video Server based on the TI's TMS320-DM642 DSP core processor and the Smart phones client, which allows users to control remote scene directly by a cellphone, and provides a solution for the promotion of security system in individual market.The article presents an overview of system architecture and implementation process of the embedded video monitoring system, and gives a introduction of the system development platform and related key technologies, including SSD-DM642 Embedded Development Platform, DSP integrated development environment ccs, development environment for mobile client, video compression technology(H.264), J2ME technology and so on. Based on above technologies, the article uses TI's RFs software framework and network development kit as the foundation, realizing the functions of real-time compression, network transmission, recording, alarm and PTZ control on the SSD-DM642 Development board, and aslo designs the human-machine interface of the video surveillance in the mobile client, which realizes the connection to the video server, playing video and remote control. This thesis gives a detailed implementation of key modules of the system.
