Nowadays, indoor environment problemes are mainly raised by two kinds of toxic gases. One part is gases such as formaldehyde, toluene. They mainly come from decoration materials, toys, household insecticide aeroso and so on. The other part toxic gases include carbon monoxide, nature gas or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). The laters have chance to risk people's life mainly because people' carelessness. Base on actual needs, we design an indoor air quality monitoring system which can test gases such as formaldehyde, toluene, carbon monoxide, nature gas or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). When one gas concentration goes beyond its limit, the device will alarm people timely and correctly. Using this monitoring device, not only people could keep health, but also many family disasteres could be avoided.This thesis is all about the indoor environmental quality monitoring system. First of all, we introduce those toxic gases'sources and the damages they bring to people's life, specially the explosive and combustible gas leakage' damage. And then, we intruoduce embedded system's characters, how to set up an embedded system, and the general plan of this monitoring system. After that, the thesis introduces the principle of gas sensors and the characters of gas sensors which are used in this system. The last part is about the system' hardware and software's design, which is also the most important part in the whole thesis.The embedded system chooses S3C44B0X, which is come from Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, as the core of its hardware and takes the real-time operating systemμC/OS-IIas its software platform. The thesis study how to transplant and configrate the operating systemμC/OS-II to S3C44B0X. It also empoldered application based onμC/OS-II. The whole system could monitor and display the toxic gases' concentration and alarm people timely and correctly.Introduce embedded system into monitoring device offers convenience to designers to use software methods to control the devices'functions and behaviors. And also shorten the circle of developing new intelligent device, enhace the device's stability and maintainability.
