With the development of network technology and popularization of the network applications, relying on the network technology of rail transit system is the rapid development of rail transit system, it's difficult to interactive operate and share the resources because of lacking the uniform description in various systems. At present, keywords retrieval methods can't meet the requirements of the customers as too many meaning to the limitations. Therefore, it is necessary to research a new technique to improve the existing rail traffic data platform. This paper will introduce the concept of ontology in rail transit system, this article first discusses the theory of information retrieval, ontology background and significance, and introduces the present on the semantic retrieval based on ontology research status, Then it introduces ontology and basic knowledge of information retrieval, this paper introduces the existing ontology construction, Then at the conclusion of the existing ontology construction method, and based on the actual situation of high speed railway, the high-speed railway category list and thesaurus, trains, for example, tells the high-speed railway construction process of domain ontology, Then it introduces the semantic retrieval based on ontology is the key technology:the semantic similarity pretreatment techniques, and the semantic query expansion, etc, and the algorithm, based on semantic similarity algorithm was improved, and puts forward a kind of keywords to expand more comprehensive semantic query expansion algorithm, Finally, the semantic retrieval technology based on ontology in rail transit system is implemented in the gateway, and the previously mentioned theories and ideas for preliminary validation.
