With the rapid growth of economy and the acceleration of urbanization in recent years, China's increasing consumption of energy is getting serious, which has become a vital factor in restricting the development of economy. Being a energy-saving society has become our country's inevitable choice. The consumption of water and electricity, especially the serious waste of electricity, makes considerable proportion in the fiscal expenditure in universities. How to effectively reduce the waste in using lights, fans, air conditioners and other electronic equipments will significantly benefit our society.According to the study of the current situation of energy saving management, to avoid the problems which are briefly mentioned above, this paper carries out an investigation to get a better insight into applications of wireless-sensor-networks. This paper aims to design a wireless sensor networks based management system. This paper studies the hardware design for WSN-based classroom energy management system and the software design for WSN-based test control network; and proposes methods of classroom-energy's detection and control, which can achieve classroom energy-saving.Firstly, the paper carries out an in-depth study of the current status of energy saving system for college classrooms, and analyzes its advantages and shortcomings as well as the feasibility and technical difficulties of wireless-sensor-network applications in constructions.Secondly, the paper designs management system hardware of WSN-based classroom energy-saving, and analyzes main features of the classroom energy-saving, then designs a classroom management system for energy-saving wireless sensor network topology. According to the functions of classroom energy saving management network, this paper designs measurement and control sensor network nodes, routing nodes and coordinator nodes required hardware, which will achieve the standard AI, DI input circuit and DO output circuit design.Thirdly, the paper designs and implements the WSN-based software for detection and control network. Then by studying IEEE 802.15.4 standard agreement, to master the related principles and protocols of wireless-sensor-network communication. Using sophisticated wireless-sensor-network protocol stack, the paper designes classroom energy control system, network communication, as well as network management and service. Through channel scanning, carrier sense collision avoidance mechanism, retransmission mechanism, and normal security mechanism for the system, the paper provides reliable network access and media access to ensure the reliability of communication networks and security.Finally, the paper puts forward an analysis the problems of current methods of classroom energy-saving measurement and control. For special applications in classrooms, this paper use infrared detectors, temperature and illumination parameters, to study the strategies and algorithms of classroom energy-saving.Innovations of this paper are:firstly, the wireless-sensor-network (WSN) applications in constructions have features in low difficulties of constructing, low investment, convenient operation, easy expansion, and easy for remote monitoring and comprehensive analysis. Secondly, this paper proposes more reliable strategies and algorithms for classroom energy-saving control system, and solves misuse problems to control, and balances the problem between control precision and investment cost.Through the test of the whole system based on the WSN, it shows evidential results that the system is feasible and satisfies the requirements of saving energy in universities.
