Streaming media, as the new internet transmission pattern, which solves the problem of transmission video data in internet, is widely used in the system of Video on Demand(VOD). In some sense, VOD is a revolution of video information technology. Users can follow their own wishes to distance learning, information inquiry, etc. It greatly improves and enhances quality of people's life and productivityBased on the analysis of requirements for all the students and teachers in YanTai Nanshan university video-on-demand basis, we use the three-tier architecture of the system design and implementation work. The whole system functional requirements analysis Consider Teachers and students as the user needs analysis the characteristics of the starting point. Software design phase and completed the overall framework of the system, functional modules. Applying the general principles of database design, The VOD database is designed, and gives the system the basic table structure. Combining of J2EE related technologies and development of methods to achieve the four layers described and analyzed separately, the security of the database is protected by studying the information security technology about on-demand system. Finally, the test works, such as the choice of test environment, unit testing, system function tests were analyzed and explained.System design uses object-oriented approach, choosing Java as the programming language, Apache/Tomcat and WEB technology for software development and implementation. Due to the use of J2SDK language development, the system is cross-platform. Component technology ensures the system scalability, reusability and maintainability of sacrifice. The system uses a direct, clear, simple JSP interface, and uses user-friendly interface, unified style.The VOD system, achieving the on-demand center, download center, data management, advanced search, notice services function module, is a feature-rich, running fast, simple operation, balance Loading and easy to maintain the characteristics of the VOD software. The delivery system has been widely praised and the responses are good. It improves efficiency in the use of video resources, meets the demand for shared using of multimedia resources of all teacher and student in YanTai Nanshan University and achieves the desired purpose.
