As a special project ship, Large floating crane have been widely used in offshore oil development, large-scale offshore engineering, coastal and installation of wind power and other salvage operations. However, for the complex marine construction conditions and harsh climate and environment, there have occurred several structural failures and accidents of the Crane Ship both at home and abroad, which Seriously endanger the lives and safety of the ship, so it's urgent need to establish a real-time monitoring system to real-time monitor the process of lifting and towing the ship under such conditions, especially the state of boom. And to protect the safety operation of large floating crane, satisfy the needs of large-scale marine construction projects.This paper is under the support of the project of fiber grating real-time monitoring of a large floating crane, and under the guidance of my professor. For the characteristics of metal Arm, fault feature and shortcomings of the existing monitoring systems. From the basic theory, basic experiments, engineering applications of fiber Bragg grating in large floating crane applications, Discussed the large floating crane boom structure of fiber grating sensor preparation technology, FBG sensor network design technology and system integration technology; established the relevant monitoring system, and applied in a large floating crane.First, metal structure of domestic and foreign large vessels monitoring the dynamics of Research and Development reviewed and summarized, and lack of monitoring methods for the now proposed FBG sensor based on the monitoring strategy.Second, from a large floating crane boom structure of the starting metal properties, metal structure of large floating crane boom material, load, fatigue, etc. characteristics of the system of research, summarized the main reason for its failure characteristics and conditions, and characteristics of these conditions, systematic testing theory, proposal of building a fiber grating real-time monitoring system strategy. Third, fiber Bragg grating dynamic strain detection technology as a breakthrough, developing a dynamic fiber grating strain sensors. On this basis, a large floating crane boom structure for real-time monitoring system of the actual situation on the hardware platform, software platform to analyze, build the system structure, to achieve complete system functionality. And the large floating crane boom structure applied to obtain good results, showing potential applications of the system and better social and economic benefits.Fourth, a large floating crane boom structure from the local environment in which to study the structure of the monitoring of large floating crane jib temperature compensation facing difficulties, these difficulties, we present a different approach and tested and verified, and put forward feasible compensation.
