Railway slopes are vulnerable to rain, earthquakes and weathering, which affects the security of railway system seriously. Therefore, developing a security monitoring system for railway slope is necessary and urgent. However, no such monitoring system has been built up nowadays, and this is why we focus ourselves on designing the security system of the railway slope. The main contents of this paper are described as follows:In this paper, the railway slopes are classified by the soil composition. Kinds of factors affecting the security for different railway slopes are studied; And the advantages and disadvantages of the current domestic and international methods for monitoring technologies, methods about the layout of the monitoring node, and monitoring instruments. Then, with considering the characteristics of railway slope internal communication network, the scheme of the motoring system based on on-site monitoring node, the data acquisition node, and the remote monitoring based is promoted. The whole system is simple, stable, economic, practically.The hardware platform of on-site node is designed for the soil slope. The platform takes STM32 as the controller, and includes the signal conditioning circuits for vibrating wire instruments and rain gauge, SPI interface for Nor flash M25P64, the CAN communication interface for data acquisition node, the alarm circuit for anti-theft module and the power supply circuit. The whole system is simple structured, reliable, accurate and fast.The hardware platform of acquisition node is designed, which includes the minimum system of S3C2410, the CAN communication interface, the communication interface for ethernet controller, the power supply circuit and anti-theft circuit. Embedded operating system can be directly transplanted to the data aggregation nodes, and can be extended easily.The software system contains three parts:the on-site monitoring node, the data acquisition node and the remote monitoring center. Modules are divided according to functions. The on-site monitoring node contains modules for acquisition, processing, storing, transmitting, self status checking, command receiving and execution. The acquisition node implements the receiving and transmitting functions, storing, and status checking of sub-layer monitoring nodes. The software of remote monitoring center is developed in VC++, the data transmitting and receiving are realized via SOCKET, and data storage is implemented using ODBC. Specialized stability identifying software is used to process data and alert when serious situation occurs.
