| Objectives This study aims at designing the evaluation system of the websites of Maternal and Child Health Hospital (MCHH for short) in China, grasping the status of the websites of MCHH by means of evaluating the websites, finding out the problems and deficiencies, and raising reasonable suggestions.Methods This study used the Philology analysis, Delphi method, testing and comparing method, searched and readed the articals related to website evaluation via the article database and the search engines, designed the evaluation system of the MCHH which combines the characteristic of the MCHH, discussed the evaluation system repeatedly with experts, and then modified and consummated, searched the websites of MCHH of each provinces and cities, and evaluated the websites with the evaluation system, analysed the results with the SPSS and EXCEL softwares, compared the websites of different levels and different regions.Results (1)This study raised systemic evaluation system of websites of MCHH in China, it comprised four parts: study and education, affair assistance, communication and feedback, website design,study and education included health knowledge,news, laws and regulations and the rights protection, affair assistance included network health self-test, self-care assistance,medical aid and health records maintenance, communication and feedback included on-line consultation, BBS, complaint and feedback, and online survey, website design included web technology, web logo, aid function and contact, each criteria included some questions, corresponded different weight partly. (2) The percentage of the websites of MCHH was low, the percentage of provinces was 77.42%, the percentage of cities was 39.46%, the percentage of eastern, central and western provinces was 91.67%,88.89%及50.00%, the percentage of eastern, central and western cities was 57.12%,45.30%及13.59%. (3) The mean score of the websites of MCHH was 27.02, the mean score of the provinces and cities websites partly was 30.24 and 26.43, the mean score of eastern, central and western regions was 28.78,24.43 and 28.38. The score of the website design was highest(59.71),and then was study and education(35.33), affair assistance was lower(20.31), communication and feedback was lowest(11.62).Conclusions The evaluation system was scientific and operable, the health education ability of the websites was treasured, affair assistance of the websites developed step by step, communication in the websites increased, website design was nice and easy to use. But there were problems in the websites: the proportion of the construction websites of MCHH was low, regional difference was notable; the role of the website was not clear, the result of the website evaluation was poor; health information of the websites was not comprehensive and lack of standard; the ability of the business assistance was poor, information integration need to be strengthened; interaction of the online communication was not very well, the channel of feedback was sluggish; website design fall short of specifications. According to the major problem of the MCHH websites, suggestions was listed as follows: adequately recognize the important meaning of the MCHH websites; consummate the structure of the MCHH websites; strengthen the ability of information release; enhance the capability of business assistance; advance the function of communication and feedback step by step; improve the format of the website. |
