With the development of the future mobile communication system towards all-IP networks, mobile IP gives a standard global mobility solution for different networks in the future all-IP mobile communication system. In mobile IP environments, the openness of wireless networks and the mobility of mobile nodes bring many security issues to mobile IP applications. Moreover, a useful mobile IP registration protocol should take into the consideration of the security for a wide development of mobile IP. Therefore, it is of vital importance and good prospects to do the research on the security issue of mobile IP registration. To protect the security in the process of mobile IP registration, this article introduces an registration scheme suitable for mobile IP based on IBS .The scheme could identifies the user's authentication, and prevents unauthorized users from occupying resource of network, deleting,or tampering data. In the meanwhile, it not only protects the privacy of legitimate users but also improves the efficiency of the registration. The main works of this paper are as follows:1.A secure and efficient ID-based mobile IP registration protocol without pairings is proposed. The protocol introduces an ID-based signature(IBS) scheme without pairings used for the authentications between the foreign agent(FA) and the home agent(HA) to minimize the registration delay because it does not require the use of certificates and eliminates expensive pairing operations.2.In order to prove that the proposed ID-based mobile IP registration protocol is reliability, PCL-like logic language is used to prove the security of the scheme in theory.3.We realize the simulation of the proposed scheme by NS2; compare it with the existing registration protocols on the registered delay, the size of registration information and the computation of MN. In the meanwhile, the extension of the proposed registration protocol is proved to be feasible in the complex network.
