The Research On Authentication And Registration Of Mobile IP Joint With AAA

Recently, the society is fast developing. However, the information industry is developing much faster, and mobile communication is in the front rank. With the cost decrease of mobile devices and network running, data communication and Internet have already been accepted by more and more people. Small size, light weight and movableness have become the developing direction of communication device, for example, cell phone, PDA, notebook PC etc.; People's depending on Internet becomes stronger and stronger, they hope to get information from Internet whenever and wherever. Thus, original mode of settled communication can't represent the advantage of movableness, and can't satisfy people's need. Following the rapid increase of the need of mobile communication, IESG passed Mobile IP Working Group in June, 1996, and made it the proposed standard in November. Mobile IP is a solution to mobile function. It is expandable, reliable and safe. It makes the mobile nodes keep the resting communication when changing link. It supplies an IP routing mechanism, and allows mobile nodes access with permanent IP.The movable doesn't mean more risk than the settled. So it is necessary to establish a safe and reliable authentication method. IETF then built AAA Working Group to do research on authentication, authorization and accounting, and established RFC2977 in 2000.After introducing the wireless network and mobile IP, this thesis analyses the mechanism of MIPv4 and MIPv6, and compares them with each other. By analyzing the security problem, this thesis proposes two solutions of the authentication and authorization of mobile IP joint with AAA, and makes detailed explanation of each solution.
