With the ever-changing information technology and the rapid development of Internet, we have entered the era of Web2.0. Internet users, change from simply accepting information into participating in manufacturing information and spreading information, which formed a user-centric, open, interactive and sharing era. After entering Web2.0 era, with the growing of digital resources, commercial search engine surge. The development of library OPAC can't meet the users information consumption demands, faced with the embarrassing situation that readers become fewer and fewer. Reformation is hanging over one's head.Library is facing a great challenge, which is also having many opportunities. It can use the Web2.0 technologies to arm OPAC, and rationally utilize and organize resources, and optimize the digital resources environment, to rich library content of services, to enable the user have a better experience to the library retrieval, to access information more effectively. This paper is based on this consideration. First the author studied the related theory of OPAC system and investigated the OPAC systems of universities'libraries at home by the way of logging on to the net. On the basis of this the gap between the user's demands and the function of the OPAC systems was found, and the direction of the OPAC systems was studied. The author also researched the new generation of foreign popular open-source OPAC systems and chose one typical example to realize. The typical OPAC system was improved in order to be made be suitable for domestic library's need. The improved OPAC system can retrieval and integrate the Chinese resources. In this way the author hope to expand university library's OPAC's function by using Web2.0 technology and provide some reference to improve the information service.
