At present, experimental resources in schools can not meet the needs of teaching, because of continued expansion in the grants. High requirements of experiments and hands-on ability in many professionals especially science and engineering professional is needed. Although the government has increased the school's funding of education and research , both the quantity and quality of the school's laboratory equipments are not able to meet the actual demand when facing with so many students who need experiment. With the development of hardware and programming language of computer, virtual instrument is produced. Exploiting and using the virtual instrument can save experimental expenditure, and also expand experiments in time and space effectively.On the basis of Technological Infrastructure Foundation Project of Shanxi (2,006,091,001) , virtual instrument technology is applied to a platform of virtual experiment with the use of LabVIEW graphical programming language , building a virtual experimental platform based on virtual instrument, providing students with a experimental teaching platform of network. The main tasks of this paper about how to build a experimental platform which has reasonable frame work and is convenient in using are as follows: 1. The status of domestic and international on virtual instruments and virtual laboratory is studied in-depth in this paper, and the basic concept of virtual instruments and virtual laboratory, classification, structure and development processes are analyzed theoretically.2. Rudimentary knowledge and various programming tools provided by the LabVIEW are described from the view of classification. We analyze the C / S and B/S mode respectively and make a comparison of this two kinds of architecture from different levels, choose the virtual laboratory development model according to the advantages and disadvantages of the two models .3. A "Remote Virtual laboratory" has been built in accordance with the theoretical framework, modeling and technical solutions presented in this paper. The laboratory is divided into simulation platform and the observation and control research platform. A series of theoretical and proved simulation experiments (spectrum analyzer, waveform generator of formula, comparative experiments of FIR filter and Butterworth filter, comparative experiments of Fourier transform, etc.) have been designed and realized by using the LabVIEW in the simulation platform. A series of remote available virtual instruments (waveform generator of formula, arbitrary-waveform generator, Butterworth filter, windowed FIR filter, FFT converter, etc.) has been designed and realized in the observation and control research platform, and corresponding test procedures are developed to testify that the virtual instruments are remote available. 4. A CO concentration remote monitoring using the shared variable technology provided by LabVIEW cooperated with the CO sensors is developed. the system has multi-level alarm and high innovation in design. In addition,a Remote CH4 Remote Monitoring and Alarm System is developed, and the system use the Butterworth filter in the observation and control research platform of the virtual lab,can be used in factories or mines by using sensors of high sensitivity. The advantage of LabVIEW in control and network programming has been brought in to play through developing the two simulations.The remote network virtual experimental platform designed and implemented in this paper has realized functions of remote control, resource sharing, data sharing and remote monitoring, and the system finished the test of LAN, which can meet the requirements of online experiments.
