The Research Of Wireless Meter Reading System Based On Zigbee

Traditional system of the meter reading exist long construction and diffcult wiring and threading in comparison a variety of meter reading system,So much a waste of human and material resources,an urgent need to address this issue. Zigbee is a new kind of close quarters, low-complexity, low power, low data rate, low-cost wireless networking technology. It is based on 802.15.4 standard, in thousands of tiny sensors to achieve communication via the co-ordination.So technology of zigbee have good market prospects in terms of measuring instrument in the user network and In the application a wireless automatic meter reading system. The GPRS wireless network technology adapt to a small amount of data transmission volume because of no wiring,using the easy installation,low cost,no constraints control from distance,geography and time. So it used widely in remote areas of the wireless meter reading. This paper study a new type of wireless meter reading system combining the Zigbee technology and GPRS, thus effectively solve the automatic data collection and data wireless remote problem and facilitate the meter reading center of the meter data collection and improve level of automation.According to different functions,the wireless meter reading terminal separate into the collector, the relay (router) and the concentrator.The transceiver modules of the zigbee of the Collector,relay and concentrator is based on the external circuit through the expansion module CC2430, the ZigBee mesh together to form a network to complete the meter data collection,transmission,forward and summary. In this process, We are a comprehensive introduction to the technical principles of the Zigbee,the layer protocol of the Zigbee network,the security of the Zigbee network and so on. while we have developed the driver of the CC2430 based on the embedded uClinux system.The concentrator is a gateway to the outside world to access Zigbee network,it is the core unit of the terminal of the meter reading system. We use ARM9 microprocessor of 32-bit as the system processor unit in order to improve focus speed and compatibility of devices,taking into account the large amount of data processing device and updating the current meter reading methods,we specially designed storage circuit for the concentrator module. We use MC35 as GPRS module, in this process, this paper also describes the GPRS network architecture,network security and draw a GPRS external circuit wiring diagram.which constitutes a wireless meter reading system is an important part. Finally, this thesis has systematically summing up of the system deficiencies, pointing out the direction for future efforts.
