Virtual Community As The Public Sphere

The appearance and development of Internet technology has brought a huge impact on people's daily life. For example, it has become a common practice for Chinese top leaders to chat on Internet with the mass, and "Internet supervision" became a key word on NPC & CPPCC.Internet is a two-way media, a perfect complement to the real world, every body can speak their mind freely on Internet in respect of their race, income, and value. This kind of public opinion collecting and distributing centre monitors government's work and social ecology, those charters set off and discussion for the possibility of building a public sphere on Internet..This paper focus on human flesh search and virtual community, tries to explain that it is possible of building a public sphere on Internet. But this paper also shows the other side of the coin, the irrational netizens and the increasing control on internet by the government make it difficult to build a pure public sphere on internet.
