The Video Surveillance is developed rapidly, with the developing of the social and the enhancing awareness of people. The Video Surveillance Technology is developed owe to the development of the MultiMedia technology,Computer Network and Communication Technology and Electronic Technology. Intergrating the Embedded Technolgy, MultiMedia Technology and NetWork Technology, is the main stream and market trends of the Video Surveillance market.Differing from traditional system,this thesis purposes a new embedded sytem for remote video surveillance system.This system uses the Linux as the software plateform and the latest H.264 video compression algorithm.The design not only reduces complexity,but also impoves system performance and image quality.First of all, this paper introduces the backgroud of Research,and descripts the Status of development and the trends on Video Surveillance Market at home and aboard. Secondly, the relative key technologies are discussed.Given to this condition the author comes up a solution to the Video Surveillance's architecture of hardware and software.On the one hand, This system uses the S3C2410A ARM microprocessor,which is produced by Samsung Company in South Korea.And the main frequency of the microprocessor is up to 203MHz. On the other hand, This solution makes use of the linux as the Embedded Operation System. This paper elaborate on the imgration of the linux os, the construction of the Root file system,and development of the drivers.The video captured by the video device is coded and compressed by the H.264 algorithm and is sent to the microprocessor. After processed by it the H.264 data stream is sent to video surveillance network. Then the H.264 data stream is packed by the Real-time Transport Protocol and User Data-diagram Protocol and the Internet Protocol. Finally the data packet is transmitted to the user.In this part of ending,we discuse the development prospect of the remote video surveillanceystem.
