With the development of Internet and arrival of Post-PC times,the application of embedded system becomes more and more popular.Now embedded system technology has been one of the most popular tech. Embedded products have possessed great proportion in IT field.The kernel of hardware of embedded system is embedded micro processor,ARM(Advanced RISC Machine)is in the lead accredited in the field of 32 bits embedded processor,and occupied in the field of embedded system application of low consumption,low cost and high performance.The embedded technology based om ARM has become a light point of current embedded field.The kernel of software of embedded system is embedded operation system.Embedded Linux,a streamlined version of standard Linux,Inherits it's powerful fuction,fine porting,well support for hareware and for free. Embedded Linux gains vast application in many field.In recent years,With development of embedded technology,demands for HMI becomes more friendly graphic HMI provides abundant graphics and image information and intuitionistic communication means for embedded system.MiniGUI is an embedded GUI software,which both can implement rapidly development application program and can save embedded system resources.User can design own graphics HMI with MiniGUI expendiently,and complete all kinds of application programs.Embedded system has been used widely in industrial controlling,consumming electronics,commnuication system,network,wireless products,because of its many merits,such as low-cost,carriable easyly,high performence,low power consumption。The paper designed an embedded ARM-Linux Picture Grabbing System.Firstly,the paper presents hardware and software structure of a Picture Grabbing System and all parts which included in the structure.According with current develping enviroment,the paper presents the processing of building an embedded ARM-Linux developing system.All the work is based on ARM-Linux Video Grabbing System.Including building of cross tool chain,porting of kernl,CS8900A driver,NFS network file system,lcd driver,touchscreen driver,Secondly,the paper presents the process of developing USB camera driver.The content including porting S3C2410 USB host controller driver and USB camera device driver,Video4Linux API application..At last,the paper detailly presents the process of developing application program based on MiniGUI.The content including building target board and PC developing environment of MiniGUI,developing user graphic interface, picture reviewing function designing and IAL developing.The operating method,which use graphics user interface with touch screen input engine,can work well.
