| The relationship between the police and the public is playing an ever important role in our everyday life, and it is very important to the security and the harmony of the society. The police are exercising the rights, fighting with crime and maintaining the social orders on the behalf of the State. According to the statistics, so far from the New China was established, 10,768 people have passed away and 151,468 people got injured because of their job in the troop of police. The police play an irreplaceable important role on protecting the general rights of the people and maintaining the social orders. However, due to the special nature of that job, the police were often seen as a symbol of violence. And in recent years, the technology is developing in a very quick speed, because of the happening of some individual issues and some impertinence reports that made by some medias, the image of police has become worse and worse. So, therefore, how to conduct the news report which involves police properly, and how to build a good relation between the police and the mess media has become an urgent issue now.This study analysis the news reports of police on People's Daily from 1979-2009, trying to find out the features of the reports through these research, and then, summarize the orderliness of this reports from a historical perspective, find out the problems that exist, give some constructive views and ideas to the media on how to improve the police reports. Expect that this research could give some useful advice for the medium on the problems that how to shape the image of police, and make the relative institutions find out the significance of such problems like the shaping of police image and management of crises. Hoping to solve the problems that how to improve the reports of police and bate the public image crises of police, and ameliorate the relationship between the police and the public, then made our society become more and more harmonious in a further way. |
