Disaster report,which is mainly characterized by reporting disastrous events,draws much attention all over the society due to the following reason:disastrous events present themselves with abruptness by emerging accidently,concussiveness by conflicting drastically,negativeness with serious consequences and sociality with comprehensive and agelong influence.Journalism is an inherent characteristic of disaster news.A proper report is helpful in preventing and relieving disaster,getting over the panic of the public and impelling the disposal of the accidents.As to the reporting itself,it plays a role in the decrease of rumor spread,the promotion of media influence, the construction of democracy and legal system and the fostering of the good image of our country.Wenchuan,a previously unknown county in Southwest China,became the center of the whole world's attention overnight.The dismal sight and catastrophe caused by the major earthquake shocked everyone:houses collapsed,roads destroyed,transportation,communication,the supply of power,water and air thoroughly interrupted,and such a scene appeared in a scope of more than 10,000 square kilometers.According to the specialists,the seismaethesia of this earthquake has a wide range,with the magnitude and intensity the greatest since the Founding of New China.As to the news propagation of Wenchuan Earthquake,We can learn that disaster report has breakthroughs in the following aspects—the rapidness of information release,the strong degree of information publicity,the science of agenda setting,the richness and comprehensiveness of the content and the profoundness of humanity exposure,which are all scare in the history.Large numbers of journalists rushed to the disaster areas at the peril of their lives,providing information for the public in the first time.Those reports characterized by large-scaledness,centrality, synchronicity and diversity display the promotion of media reporting idea and the maturation of operation mechanism.All the features presented in disaster report of Wenchuan Earthquake would become the institution experience and spiritual wealth of media development,which may exert great influence on the future development of media.In the light of Propagation and laws,the thesis takes disaster reports of Wenchuan Earthquake as a case study.It makes a resurvey of disaster news report so as to attract further study of disaster report and provide a referential and feasible report model for disaster news report in China.
