As the development of the work about smart grid and the deepening of enterprise information work, the business of communication network in power is increasing day by day. Along with the vigorous development of grid in the Langfang city and communications technology, the existing communications network platform in power will be difficult to meet the future power communication business and the size of users demand.The planning and designing of power communication network is focused on in Langfang city. Firstly, through deeply analyzing the current communication network technology and the status of power communication network in Langfang city, some problems in electric power communication network are searched. Secondly, through analyzing the needs of the business of communication network, bandwidth is forecasted by using the method of combining the intuitive prediction method and the time-series forecasting methods. The three-tier network of communication network architecture model in power is proposed. The model of the transport layer, access layer and business layer are detailed description respectively. Finally, the various components of communication network in power are designed. The transport network, business networks and synchronization network are researched in depth respectively, thus the communication network is able to provide security, stability and reliability for the safe operation of power grid.
