With the development of Yantai Nanshan University, and with the continuing expansion of enrollment scale and the constant growth of students, the university leaders encounter with many problems. And these problems are listed in the following: to guarantee students'quality of life and the normal operation of the rest areas, to solve the supply and demand contradiction of students'apartment and to improve the efficiency of apartment management, so that students'apartment management could develop towards the scientific, standardized, institutionalized and intelligent way, and this is a main concern of the school leaders. With the introduction of EPR system for large corporations, the requirements for information data processing of Yantai Nanshan University also becomes urgent. And as the information management system is under construction, Yantai Nanshan University starts to develop an information system that could meet its needs. The students'apartment management system is a main step that Yantai Nanshan University takes in the aspects of information building process, and this follows the trends of the developments of science and technology productivity.The mode of the information system that described in the thesis is developed by combining the advantages of C/S (Clients/Server) mode and B/S (Browser/Server) mode and through the combination avoids the shortcomings of both modes. And by using the SQL Server database system to manage the database (data sever 192.168.10.250) protect the synchronization and completion of data.The design of Nanshan University Apartment Management System focuses on student accommodation management, as well as other related aspects. It mainly takes 5 aspects into consideration:1. Scientific and standardized management 2. Error minimization.3. Least cost in manpower, material and financial resources.4. Data Sharing.5. Flexible control over dynamic information.The design fully covers every aspect of apartment management and simplifies the management mode of daily routines, which will surely help management staff out from heavy workload. The system contains various modules in term of function setup, generally including accommodation management, payment management, daily management, and system maintenance. Each module also contains various sub-modules with the purpose of realizing different function. The completed system will extremely meet diversified needs, making apartment management step up to a new stage.Currently, this system has been put into trial operation in apartment management department of Yantai Nanshan University.
