In recent years, the quality of empty bottles before filling in the fields of food and drinking has been taken more and more attention in our country. Along with the development of automation, the international inspection technology based on machine vision is advanced with maximum speed almost 20 bottles per second at present, but in domestic many enterprises still use the manual inspection which can't satisfies the high speed examination request. At present the inspection equipments in our country totally dependent on import. Therefore, the design and development of automatic empty bottle inspection system with high speed will meet the urgent demand of our country. It may substitute the expensive import equipments.The goal of this topic is to change present situation, to research and develop an automatic inspection system which based on machine vision, the precision machinery, the real-time control and high speed inspection. The software system useed is the C++language and the platform is Visual C++. The C++language is fast and close to hardware platform. As a result, it's very suitable in this system. For the system needs to access underlying bed hardware, data acquisition card and movement control card for correspondence.According to the inspection requirement of actual beer production line, An aotumatic inspection system based on the machine vision was designed. This system takes advantage of achinery, electron, software, image technology and so on. All components work coordinately. It can inspect and can reject bottles which have fault or unqualified.This paper mainly elaborated the design and the development of software of the automatic empty bottle inspection system. Firstly, the paper explanated the background of automatic glass empty bottle inspection system, the research present situation overseas and domestic, as well as the importance to develop the inspection system in our country. Next the paper explanated the total design goal of the system.Introducted the basic structure and the work flow, the hardware constitution and the software design as well as the software design technology route selection. Then the paper explanated the database design in this inspection system as well as the realization in software on Visual C++platform. It introduced the related principles of database design, and several ways to visit database on Visual C++platform. And it selected the appropriate database management and the data accessing way for the software. Then the paper elaborated the control and correspondence plan for the system. It elaborated in detail how to acquisit data through the data acquisition card and the movement control panel card on Visual C++platform, and how to correspondence with the imagery processing software on another computer. Finally, the paper researched methods commonly used of the software encryption and decipher at present. It proposed the software and the hardware combined encryption methods, and elaborated the realization of these methods in the system. At last, the software was tested and summarized.This topic adopted theoretical research, the practical application development as well as the massive experiments under actual condition. It had proven that the structure is reasonable, the performance is stable and the image detection algorithm is precise enough in the inspection system this topic proposed. At present the prototypical movement is stable, reliable, and all targets had achieved the anticipated target.The automatic bottle inspection system suits national condition of our country. It has many benefits. It can guarantee quality of drinking, protect consumers' health, bring the beer plant economic profit. Also it will give the system producer economic profit, help the oversea bottle inspection system maintain reasonable prices. Therefore it will maintain the national interests.
