Currently, power electronics technology has become the most widely used and the most concerned technology in the new century. IGBT in the modern power industry is playing an more and more important role, especially in terms of energy saving it has also played an irreplaceable role. Therefore IGBT drive technology and its application has become a hot research. The thesis's researches the IGBT drive and protection circuit and its application to the electromagnetic induction heating system.One focus of this paper is to the development of the IGBT driving circuit used in electromagnetic induction heating system, and designed an electromagnetic induction heating system in connection with the characteristics of the injection molding machine. The system includes the rectifier and filter circuit, half-bridge inverter circuit, control circuit, driver circuit, temperature detection circuit, current monitor circuit.This paper analyzes requirements of the IGBT driving circuit, and developed a single tube driving circuit and a half-bridge IGBT module driver and protection circuit. IGBT single tube driving circuit's function is relatively simple, only a soft shutdown and over-current protection. The half-bridge IGBT module driver and protection circuit's function is more full-featured, with the soft turn-off, interlocking, level conversion, an error signal level conversion, over-current protection, power supply voltage monitor, power supply and pulse isolation circuit, it can applicable to middle-power or high-power IGBT half-bridge driver module.In the electromagnetic induction heating section, the thesis describes the working principle of electromagnetic induction heating, analysis of series or parallel resonant inverter topology and characteristics. According to the practical application of injection molding machines designed two main circuit topology, one part is the single tube IGBT topology for low power heated, the other is the half-bridge IGBT topology that for middle or high power heated. The thesis also introduced the electromagnetic induction heating control circuit and the use of fuzzy-PID algorithm for temperature control. Finally, through to the system simulation and experiment debugging indicated the whole induction heating system meets the requirements of practical application, reliable operation and accurate, suit in promotes in injection molding machine industry.In the end, this thesis summarizes the content and makes a simple prospect future on this based work.
