The Design And Implementation Of Open Laboratory Management System

It is very significant for the overall design of management system of open laboratory for enhancing teaching effects. As the most important teaching place for students in school, the laboratory plays a vital role in improving the comprehensive quality and practical ability and innovation of students. Facing the severe employment situation, people focus more on the practical ability and innovative thinking of students. Open laboratory is a new thing and it can not only develop the practical ability and teamwork thoughts, but also exercise the speaking ability for students, which can further improve the confidence and innovative ability for students[7]. Open laboratory has changed the traditional teaching mode, but it raises more high-level requirements for laboratory management and experimental teaching management.At present, many universities and colleges have built lots of open laboratories. Combining with the characteristics and requirements of experimental program, they employ reasonable and scientific modes to manage open laboratories. However, there are some problems in the existing management modes.It is necessary to develop a reliable management system to organize and arrange the opening hours and usages of various resources in order to ensure the more efficient and effective operation of laboratory.In this paper, we design an open laboratory management system with Web-based B/S architecture basing on the management status of open laboratory. The ultimate goal of our design is to make the management more scientific and the equipment efficiency maximum. The system incorporates C/S architecture and ASP technology and employs SQL Server as the backend database, so as to improve the teaching quality and enhance the practical ability of students. It can make full use of material resources and human resources to achieve the standard of laboratory management. Moreover, the system can further improve the teaching management efficiency and provide a better environment for training the creative ability of students.In practice, the system has better openness, scalability and maintainability. We will keep testing and operating the system. If a new problem emerges, it will be treated and improved timely. In order to better meet the requirements of open laboratory of our school, the system will develop as far as possible towards the multi-function network database.
