With the increasing application of facsimile machine, the security problems of communication are of great significance. According to the requirements of the 863 research work in information security technology (2007AA01Z482), the facsimile signal acquisition prototype system is researched based on PSTN network transmission, and the facsimile signal acquisition part in the system is realized.According to the requirements of the system, the facsimile signal acquisition is designed and implemented in this paper. The facsimile signal acquisition is one function module in the facsimile communication monitor system. The function of facsimile collection is achieved in this paper, while the space for extension modules in the system is preserved so as to add other function modules. Firstly, the Recommendation T.30 used by facsimile communication is analyzed deeply, and the communication process model of the facsimile signal acquisition is designed based on T.30. Secondly, the hardware and software parts of the acquisition is designed and implemented according to the communication process model. The hardware part uses the architecture of MPC8347 kernel board and bottom board. The hardware of the acquisition is supported by the three major chips which are MPC8347, CPLD and modem. Based on the analysis of communication process in T.30 and data frame of HDLC, the software part achieves the software implementation of the facsimile signal collection by phases. In addition, using the network communication function which is supported by MPC8347 and through the modification of the network protocol stack in Linux kernel, the network communication and storage of collection data are achieved in this paper.
