The Transmission Research Of IP Facsimile Technology Based On Linux System

The facsimile technology was the necessarily communication facility in business affairs during the past ten years. With the development of the Internet, more and more consumers want to use the new facsimile service that is convenient and low-priced. The traditional facsimile technology based on PSTN cannot fulfil the increasing needs. Nowadays IP facsimile technology cannot be accepted by the businessman and civilian because of its strict demands on the consumer and network. Therefore, in this paper a detailed analysis and systemic study is done about nowadays IP facsimile technology. A new IP Facsimile Technology based on Linux system is designed, which is using the Socket programme technology.First, a simple introduction to some aspects, which the IP facsimile technology comes down, such as the theory of facsimile, IP facsimile technology, VoIP technology and IP facsimile based on VoIP, is given in this paper. The differentias between nowadays IP facsimile technology and IP facsimile based on Socket technology have been carefully analysed and compared. The paper points out the disadvantage about nowadays IP facsimile technology. A project has been designed about the amelioration of disadvantagement and the way of realization.Next, a treatise about the realization of IP facsimile based on VoIP technology is given. The contents include the actuality of VoIP technology, TCP/IP, the essence of VoIP and the realization of IP facsimile based on VoIP technology. In this paper, we have the concepts about the realization of IP facsimile and the advantage of IP facsimile technology, which have been putting forward by Cisco Company.Finally, there are some introductions about the Linux operating system and Sniffer technology. The Socket technology research has been carried through, which is regarded as one of the most common API in TCP/IP network. This paper depicts some problems, such as how torealize the correspondence between the different systems and how to send mail by Socket. These problems have been sloved and realized.With the maturing and developing of the Internet, IP facsimile service has been the most important constitutent in the market of IP increment services. The realization method of IP facsimile based on Socket technology has many advantages. By using this method, the realization and operation are more simple and convenient. It is economical and can economize a great deal of the company budget.
