| With the booming of the scale and complexity of IC design, verification also becomes more and more difficult. The traditional code coverage driver verification method is not satisfied the requirements of IC design. It becomes the bottleneck of the digital IC design development cycle.Base on VMM (Verification Methodology Manual) a verification method combined with functional coverage and assertion is proposed. The verification platform which is hierarchical, reusable and scalable is built to verify MAC (Media Access Control) module. Writing functional coverage models based on MAC frame length and type. Assertion is used to verify the timing of MII interface. More than 100 testcase and 10 assert statement were developed. The line coverage is 100%, the condition coverage is 95.1%, the FSM coverage is 100%, the functional coverage is 100%.How to add the assertion, functional coverage to traditional verification methodology was discussed in this paper. The observation can be improved, the verification cycle can be reduced and the completeness of verification can be ensured by this verification methodology. |
