Nowadays,the research-orientation of electric device are high-efficiency,green-mode and energy-saving. DC-DC/AC-DC convertors are design with these characteristics in order to prolong the life-span of power source for electric deviceThe purpose of this paper is to design an SPS control chip for portable electric device. The chip is implemented using CSMC 0.5μm CMOS process. In this paper, we recommend the switching power supply (SPS) and the principle of PWM converter first. And then, the sub-block circuit is designed according to the whole chip function and structure. In sub-block circuit section, the typical circuits including power convert block, reference block, oscillator block and so on. The basic principle of every sub-block circuits is noted and the simulation result is also given at the end of each segment. The simulation results indicate that the startup current is less than 20μA ,the whole chip power consumption is 250mW,the maximal drive current is 300mA,the nipple voltage is less than 100mV,the conversion efficiency is higher than 70%.The ultima simulation results indicate that the designed chip fulfill the expecting requirement.
