Power source provide the power for the electronic equipment which can be said to be the heart of it. Power supply design will have a direct determination on the performance, reliability and service life of the electronic equipment. Single-chip pulse width modulation (PWM) switching mode power supply with highly integrated, cost-effective, the simplest external circuit, the best performance advantages. This high efficiency, small size and without industrial frequency transformer isolated power supply, are widely applied to various fields in recently years. Here, our discussions and research on the design of special switching power supply for DVD recorder have an actual value.In this paper, first of all several typical switching mode power supply structure are introduced, according to the in-depth study the each part of the basic working principle know the switching power supply work procedure. Secondly, in accordance with the design aims and the characteristic of components, we talk about the components choice methods and parameters design, and discuss the design of electromagnetic compatibility, anti - electromagnetic interference. At the final of this paper power printed circuit board (PCB) layout and layout methods are discussed.This article steps in the switching mode power supply design for DVD recorders, achieve the target requirements. The methods of design this switching power supply also has certain reference significance.
