In recent years, the power industry in our country has gotten significant achievement with the speedy modernization construction and economy's development. However, the power generation enterprises have faced more challenges since the power industry reform was carried out in 2002 and electricity market competitive mechanism was set up. These enterprises began to take advanced measures to improve the managing level and operating efficiency in order to raise competitive strength. EAM (Enterprise Asset Management System), as one of these measures, has gotten extensive application and confirmation.The dissertation firstly illustrates the EAM's basic concept, application scope, development and theoretical fundamentals. By analyzing the current situation of information construction in the power enterprises, the paper also points out the problems existing in the management information system. Then it inquired into the main significance of studying and performing EAM for improving the maintenance efficiency and lowering the production cost, as the advanced idea of information management is led into Zhenhai Gas-turbine Power Plant. Surrounding the EAM's management kernel, the dissertation researches and sets up the software platform, hardware platform and the whole structure of EAM upon the analysis of assets management's specific requirement in Zhenhai Gas-turbine Power Plant. And from the practical application point of view, the paper primarily introduces the KKS codes and data collection, the design and application of management modules about assets, work orders, projects, materials, work sheets, preventative maintenance and the interface with Financial Management Information System.Finally the dissertation sums up not only the experience gathered during research and execution but also the achieved initial success. The practice proves that the application of EAM have an active effect on many aspects, such as improving equipment dependability, controlling inventory cost, lowering operation and maintenance expense and so on.
