With the development of the information technology, the demand that users obtain the information resources is being strengthened constantly. People get information from Web mainly by search tools,but always puzzled by the precision of them.The traditional information search tools can not meet the needs of the user's flexible query, especially can't realize more complicated inquiry, for instance, semantic search, the inquiry based on deducing. Ontology as a kind of specification of conceptualization, can express domanial knowledge with definition and formalization, and improve the interoperability of different systems and the accuracy of information retrieval.Distributed technology is the advancement of retrieval system, one of its main purposes is to promote the calculating performance by means of existing resources .Combining the semantic web with the Distributed technology, we can have ability of semantic, and on the other hand, it can improve the performance of a retrieval system.According to the research trends in semantic Web, the thesis is mainly focused on the application of Ontology in search engine and distributed retrieval technology. The main contributions of this thesis are summarized as follows:First, we proposed a distributed retrieval system based on Ontology, and Give its goles, architecture, and principle function. Aiming at key techniques of the intelligent distributed information rentrieval system, we propose our solutions that establish the basis for the implementation of the retrieval system.At the same time, in view of large Ontology in one service lack of efficiency, a method of Ontology segmentation is proposed based on the relationship of the elements among Ontology. The sub-Ontology has lower interaction with each other and stored in every service of distributed environment, and their local information are Placed in the ontological directory.This paper shows how to improve the performance of information retrieval system from a brand-new angle and provide a sound reference for building intelligent information retrieval system.
