Research Of Distributed Information Retrieval Based On Ontology

With the rapid development of Internet, there emerge explosively various information on the Web. People get information from Web mainly by search tools, but always puzzled by the precision of them. Ontology is an explicit specification of conceptualization. It can express domanial knowledge with definition and formalization, and improve the interoperability of different systems and the accuracy of information retrieval. Furthermore, existing search engine systems are inclined to be in parallel and distributed architecture in order to improve system response and to enlarge retrieving scope.In chapter two of this thesis, we introduce the concepts, the function of Ontology and description language. Based on this, we show a distributed Ontology system architecture.In chapter three, we first introduce the principle, technology, tool and feature of traditional retrievals in Web, then, we analysis distributed computing technology and distributed information retrieval technology, and we give the characteristic and advantage of mobile Agents technology.In chapter four, based on reviewing the current status of study in these aspects, we present an intelligent web information retrieval system based on Ontology and distributed computing technology, give its architecture, principle functions and work flow.In chapter five, aiming at key techniques of the intelligent information retrieval system, we propose our solutions that establish the basis for the implementation of the intelligent retrieval system.
