The Grid has been the third popular technologic wave after traditional Internet and Web. It is so called the third generation application of Internet. Grid computing has emerged as a new important technology upon the Internet.Traffic problems are global hot issues, and the traffic simulation technology has become an important means to research and resolve traffic problem. This paper puts forward a new research means which is based on the combination of Cellular Automata and Multi-Agent System (MAS) theories. And it improves more flexible two-lane changing rules on the base of the proposed two-lane changing rules.Firstly, this paper, models and analyzes of the road traffic system in the complex phenomena of traffic flow on base of the combination of Cellular Automata. The combination of Cellular Automata algorithm is simple, saving memory and particularly suitable for large-scale computer simulation. While the Multi-Agent System has been widely used in the traffic simulation study as its superiority in the area of the design methods and structures, etc. Therefore, in this paper, the combination of Cellular Automata and Multi-Agent System theories, model and analysis for the road traffic system such as changing lanes, vehicle-following and overtaking.Then, using the latest technology of the grid services to implement the methods and processes based on combination of Cellular Automata and Multi-Agent System for traffic flow simulation system. Combining of practical application, this paper designs for the entire traffic flow simulation. The main modules of the layers of the system are designed in detaile. This focuses on the completion of a two-lane simulation, to achieve the vehicle-following and change lanes, etc.Finally, in the process of computational simulation, the fundamental diagrams of traffic flow under different lane changing rules were obtained by changing traffic flow density. Result shows that models with new lane changing rules chould enlarge traffic flow. And the best lane changing rule was obtained based on the analysis of point of view for safety.
