With the rapid develop ment of socio-economic and people’s living standardgreatly improved, the number of motor ve hic les in China’s growing, roadnetwork’s effic ie ncy a nd security is increas ingly unab le to meet the tr ip dema ndof the people, which causes traffic jams and accidents. Computer trafficsimulation techno logy appears on demand, us ing computer digita l mode l toreflect the comp lex traffic phe nome non has become an important means to solvethe traffic problems.On the basis o f previo us theor ies, Age nt techno logy is used in this study o ftraffic simulation, my main work includes:1. We build the architecture of the Agent-based Microscopic TrafficSimulatio n Syste m, taking the advanta ge of the autono my, inte llige nce andother characteristics of agent. All kinds of transportation ele ments in thetransport system are abstracted as agents with perception, decis ion-mak ingand capacity ability, these agents cooperate with others on the logic le ve l,which shows real-time status of all transport agents at the micro-leve l andsimulates the change of macro-level real traffic flow with time and space.2. We propose an improved trip demand model to simulate real traffic whichchanges with time.3. We also set threshold for traditiona l nonlinear safe d istance model and usediffere nt methods to calculate ve hic les’ acceleratio n whic h enab lesvehicles to refrain from his neighbor cars and travel at the fastest speed.4. Based on Catmull-Rom sp line, we improve it b y taking more ne ighborpoints into account whic h makes the description of the curve moreaccurate.5.3D visua lization modeling technique used in this tra ffic s imulatio n sys temnot only enables the users to easily draw road network, but also veryintuitively reproduces smoothly the state of vehicles inc luding the state ofvehic le’ tracing and ve hic le’ lane c hanging in the traffic e nviro nment a nd the state of intersection s igna ls lights. The computer can present thepheno menon cost-effective ly a nd without r isk whether traffic congestionhappens in some position a nd the control o f traffic s igna ls is reasonableand effective.Traffic S imulation is to reproduce the characteristics of rea l traffic syste m.Users can change the parameters of traffic plans and the n ana lys is, eva luation oftransportation progra ms is conduc ive to solving the currently fac ing proble ms inorder to get optimal so lution. With the deve lopme nt of I nte lligent TrafficSystem and Geographic Infor mation Syste m, Age nt-based Microscopic TrafficSimulatio n System is showing its advantage in terms of inte lligence, economic,security, fle xib ility and accuracy, whic h is becoming the ma in develop mentdirection of the field of traffic simulation.
