The fabric guide line tracker was the core component to realize cylindrical fabric rope opening machinery automation. At present, the majority of fabric rope opening machinery were manually operated, which were both inefficient and labor-intensive. The position sensitive detector (PSD) was a kind of location precision photoelectric detectors, which had the virtue of high resolution, fast response, no dead zone, and that could output analog signals continuously. Therefore, it was widely used in the field of precision measurement. In this paper, we did a lot of research on the present status of the fabric guide line tracker, and studied on several common used photoelectric detectors, and analyzed the characters of each of them. In this thesis, a fabric guide line tracker was designed which was based on PSD, and experiments were carried out in platform-driven CNC. The results show the position accuracy of system is less than 2mm, which meets the textile industry in the location accuracy of less thanĀ±10mm.The research works of this thesis are as following:1. Summarized the significance and research background of fabric guide line tracker; expatiated on the status of the fabric rope opening machinery home and abroad; studied on the characters and application of several common used photoelectric detectors; and at last ,the paper's main research was discussed.2. Studied on the guide line tracker, and selected PSD as the core component of the detector; explained the structure and work principle of PSD, and this lay a foundation for the design of circuit and program; by analysis of performance parameters combined with experimental program, the right PSD was selected.3. Designed the overall program of the system; according to the guide line detection principle, the parallel light source was designed, the point light source was selected; designed the signal processing circuit including: pre-processing circuit and A/D conversion circuit; the platform driving circuit and serial communication circuit were also designed.4. Designed the experimental system software, including the next-bit machine programs and host computer software design in two parts. The next-bit machine programs includes: A / D sampling program, serial communication program and experimental platform driving program; host computer software design includes: data processing and display module, serial communication module, experimental platform control module and human-machine interface.5. Experimental system for tracking devices was calibrated. Carried a serial experiments including: the long time stability of the system, the impact of fabric color,fabric density and fabric high-speed operation on the system accuracy. At the end, analyzed the factors affecte the system measurement accuracy and suggested the ways and means to improve.6. Summarized the work of the dissertation and put forward the direction and means of the future research work.
