ObjectiveThis paper, on the basis of Computer Supported Cooperative Work technology (CSCW), develops and realizes Teleimaging Diagnosis System based on CSCW. The system with C/S network architecture uses TCP/IP protocol. Remote experts are able to use a set of tools in the electronics whiteboard, including the adjustment of the image window width, window level, layout, and the processing of image smoothing, sharpening, zoom, rotation, measurement, annotation and so on, to process the image via Internet. Remote experts can also discuss and exchange the images in chat room.Materials and MethodsThe client of the system running on Windows XP, the server of the system running on Windows Server 2003, Teleimaging Diagnosis System based on CSCW uses TCP/IP protocol as the communications protocol of the system. The system uses the development environment of Visual Studio 2005, the development language of Visual C++,Windows Sockets for networkprogramming interface.Teleimaging Diagnosis System based on CSCW includes server and client. The server and client of the system are initialized separately, as well as create a socket bundled address. The server listens to the port to wait for the connection requests of the client. When the connection request signals of the client arrive, it receives the address of the client and responds to the connection of the client. While receiving the confirmation signal of the server, the client can begin to transmit data to the server. The data type of the client includes the input data type, the command data type and the DICOM image file type. The input data type includes text for the text communication between the clients and graphics, including line, rectangle, circle, oval and freely drawing lines. The command data type is mainly used for the processing of the DICOM image, such as the adjustment of the image window width, window level, layout, and the processing of image smoothing, sharpening, zoom, rotation, measurement, annotation. The input data type and the command data type have been defined as the corresponding class which is transmitted in the form of data package. The party receiving data parses the data package for the restoration of the corresponding text, graphics, and command.ResultsTeleimaging Diagnosis System based on CSCW was successfully completed. The system provides a set of tools in the electronics whiteboard, including the adjustment of the image window width, window level, layout, and the processing of image smoothing, sharpening, zoom, rotation, measurement, annotation, which provides considerable conveniences for experts in the real-time consultation of the images in different regions.ConclusionTeleimaging Diagnosis System based on CSCW realized by the use of CSCW technology, DICOM standard, TCP/IP protocols and database technology is a practical and efficient system. The system through the Internet network, by the use of the electronics whiteboard and online chat for experts to provide real-time images and a text message exchange services, has fully met the consultation requirements among the experts in different regions.
