More than a decade has elapsed since the TV talk show"oriental live studio"turned up for the first time on channel Dongfang in 1992. Now those overwhelming talk shows are leaving us further and further due to its inaccurate positioning, plagiarism, falsity, bore, ignoring audience et al. Facing these situations, where should narrative the talk show go?This thesis mainly concentrates on the narrative talk shows in mainland China, and analyses them from the TV arts, the TV audience psychology and the narrative talk show theory. It summaries the development and characteristics of the Chinese narrative talk shows and achieves objective understandings. In this thesis, the drawbacks of the current narrative talk shows and their corresponding strategies are proposed. It aims to provide theoretical and practical suggestions to contribute the development of Chinese narrative talk shows.Chapter 1 includes the research background and its benefits, the audience psychology and the current status of narrative talk show research. In Chapter 2, the author classifies the talk shows by their definitions and reviews their development. Chapter 3, 4, 5 are the kernel parts in this thesis. chapter 3. The target viewers are analysed psychologically, who are chosen in terms of ages, genders, education levels and living conditions. the psychological demands of these viewers are also summarised. Chapter 4 points out the existing problems in the narrative talk shows. Chapter 5 provides the solutions to the problems from Chapter 4. Chapter 6 is the conclusion and the future direction of the narrative talk shows.
