The P2P network technology has been widely used in multimedia applications because the multimedia applications delivery large data, the P2P network technology developing with the people's increased demand for multimedia applications. P2P technology is an exchange technology of network information in relation to client/server(C/S) mode. In C/S mode, the data which clients request from single server, P2P technology resolves the server bottleneck problem which exits in C/S mode. The data delivery is client to client in P2P network, P2P network technology resolves the server bottleneck problem which exits in C/S mode. But in IPv4 environment, P2P network technology's advantages are not been good used because of its shortage of network addresses, security not been guaranteed and so on. At the same time, P2P technology occupies huge bandwidth, which restricts the development of P2P technologyMulticast technology is an effective method to save network bandwidth. In this paper, we use technologies as follows to solve the problems of network security and QOS in IPv4 environment: the combination of IPv6 multicast technology and P2P network technology to delivery data, the outstanding performances of network security, QOS etc in IPv6 network.P2P based research on live video system under IPv6 environment, which has important practical significance for studying applications under the IPv6 network and making good use of P2P technology's advantages. In this paper, the theoretical studies based on experimental verification, and design a live video system which P2P based under IPv6 environment. In this system the data delivery using multicast and P2P technology, reduces the occupancy bandwidth of network and promotes the developments of IPv6 and P2P technology. The main function modules of this system have been completed and the theoretical studies are verified.
