Abstract/Summary:
With the development of information technology, Internet has become the driving force to fasting and changing human information and knowledge. The service about multimedia such as VoD and Distance Education is the most absorbing network operation. It is simulating the popularity and development of IP multicast. Multicast technology can avoid the wasting of network resources, reduce networks congestion and solve the problem of broadcast storm, etc. It is more high-quality than unicast and broadcast. But scale application of multicast needs plenty of IP address which can not be afforded in IPv4 network, so the development of multicast application was restricted. IPv6 is a new version of Internet protocol which increases the IP address size to 128 bits, it completely solve the insufficient problem of address. The union of IPv6 and multicast technology will produce far-reaching effect to the application in the next generation network.Multicast is researched as an important application of IPv6 network in this article. Based on the study of multicast technology and IPv6 protocol, IPv6 multicast is analyzed and IPv6-based multicast application system is designed. In this system, the administration to multicast membership, the centralism management and distribution of multicast address and the management of flow label of multicast source are realized.This main research content of this article is as follows:1. Based on the multicast principle and relevance technology, address scheme, routing protocol, management protocol of multicast in IPv4 network and IPv6 network is explained. The difference of IPv4 multicast and IPv6 multicast is compared.2. Done some analyses on the application technology of IPv6 multicast, including the condition of multicast realization and the support of host and router to multicast. Then the management of multicast source, the administration of membership and the security control of multicast operation are explained. 3. The application system of IPv6 multicast is designed. Given the flow label application model in IPv6 multicast environment, which use the MI label form and realized the demand of streaming media data transportation to network. Done deep research on the controlled multicast protocol of IPv6. Address assignment scheme of IPv6 multicast is discussed, and then proposed a dynamic assignment scheme set among this system.4. Realized the multicast application system based on IPv6, the multicast communication is realized by the Winsock programming in IPv6 network, the authorization management of multicast membership, dynamic assignment of multicast address and the flow label used for QoS are realized too.
