With the development of information technology, image sensor is more and more used in scientific research and production and living, and now it is mainly CCD image sensor and CMOS image sensor. As collected the data source for the CCD image capture technology has made considerable progress, as a high-performance optoelectronic image image sensor for its excellent performance is widely used in remote sensing imaging, high-precision measurement, scene identification, fax, and industrial measurement and control fields.After analysis of the current image acquisition system, making full use of USB and FPGA's high-speed, flexibility and other advantages, this paper describes in detail the design scheme about image acquisition system of linear CCD based on USB interface. The system uses Xilinx's FPGA as core control, designing linear CCD drive module, image-digital converter drive module, FIFO control module, USB interface control module etc. The collected image is transmitted to PC through USB, and use application software view of the captured image in real-time.In the image acquisition system hardware design, this paper chooses TOSHIBA'S TCD1209D linear CCD to design driving circuit, with a correlated double sampling technique using image-digital converter XRD98L59 as AD converter of the CCD output video signal, choosing USB controller CY7C68013 which supports USB2.0 protocol to design the interface circuit, and the FPGA core of the system controller XC3S200 circuit, and its peripheral circuit. In the software design aspect, the use of Xilinx's ISE 8.2 software development platform using Verilog HDL to achieve linear CCD drive timing, image-digital converter driving timing, and the Slave FIFO interface mode of the USB controller chip drive timing design; focussing on discussing USB firmware program, USB driver, as well as PC-side Windows applications design.After the completion of the hardware and software design, debugging the system strictly. The experimental results indicated that the proposed design is feasible, and the designed image acquisition system could make the image collected by CCD display in real-time and save such basic functions.
