With the development of communication and computing technology, wireless sensor networks(WSN) is playing an increasingly important role. The most obvious difference between it and traditional wireless network lies in it is based on data-centric.which makes it be used in many applications. There are many important issues in design of WSN. The most import one is how to save the energy and prolong network lifetime. Clustering protocol is an important energy-saving technology. Part of nodes is selected as cluster heads. Cluster heads is responsible for aggregating the data and delivering them to base station. The energy consumption of ordinary nodes can be reduced effectively by this strategy. How to control the distribution of the cluster head is a problem need to be addressed. Different local energy consumption in different region was ignored by previous studies. In this paper, the distribution of cluster head is controled, based on local energy consumption model, to minimize the local energy consumption. The main idea is nodes compute the compete radius based on the distance between it and base station, to minimize the average energy consumption within the radius region. Next, aiming at multi-hop network, study the optimal distance to the next hop, and establish the compete radius based on distance and angle to the base station, to minimize the local energy consumption. Simulation results represent the energy consumption is saved and balanced efficiently, and the lifetime of network is prolonged. There are some characteristics in this paper as follow: 1.Introduce the difference between the local energy consumption of different region, control the distribution of cluster head, to minimize the local energy consumption; 2.Combined with the multi-hop routing, balance the global energy consumption more efficiently; 3.All the parameters is known information or local information, to optimize the network configuration process.
