With rapid development of automation control technology, computer technology and communication technology, modern shipping offers new demands to the monitoring and management of the ship. Ship-shore data synchronization, remote monitoring and online monitoring come into being in this condition. The technology not only enriches the mind and vision for modern ship management with respect to the theory, but also provides a reliable technology support for modern marine engineering management. Modern monitoring technology plays an important role in maintaining the reliability of ship power plant and completing the scheduled operating function, and will overcome the bottleneck of ship-shore communication.The key point of this paper is implementing remote monitoring system of YUKUN based on B/S.Firstly, the present status of the ship-online monitoring system is analyzed. Combining with two projects "The Applied Energy Saving Technology on Ship in Three Gorges Reservoir Area" and "Ship Cargo Online Monitoring System", the advantages and disadvantages of applying C/S mode and B/S mode are analyzed and compared, and the method of B/S mode is proposed to achieve remote monitoring system for YUKUN.Secondly, Chapter three, four and five are the core of this paper. In Chapter three, how to achieve the remote monitoring on YUKUN with the principle of B/S structure is discussed in detail as well as the process to carry out. Then the according optimized plan is given. In Chapter four, the methods to deal with the data from engine room is introduced. The mann-kendall method is chosen to test the sudden change point in the data, after the comparisons among wavelet theory, mann-kendall method, and so on. The method can also effect multiple-level alert function. In Chapter five, how to design the software for the monitoring system is figured out.
