Metering pump known as quantitative pump or proportional pump, belongs to rotary-displacement pump. It can meet the needs of different kinds of strict process. Metering pump's flow can be smoothly regulated for ranging 0-100%. It is a special positive displacement pump which can transport liquid (especially corrosive liquid). With the continuous development of the situation of modern industry towards automation and Remote control, metering pump's advantages of strong supporting and widely meeting of medium(fluid) are especially prominent. Instead of manual materials ratio, Metering pump makes materials ratio achieve a continuous operation under the remote control and makes materials ratio more accurate. Metering pump improves product quality, reduce costs, improve working conditions, enhance the overall labor productivity and create the conditions for the realization of the automation process.In this thesis, a user-friendly metering pump controller is designed. It takes metering pump as control objective and microcontroller uPSD3251 produced by ST company as its core. This controller includes LCD display, keypad control, CAN-BUS, real-time clock and other peripheral circuits. The system makes users see real-time status about the operation of metering pump through interface display. Users can precisely control the amount of material distribution through simple key operation. The control method includes two kinds of local control and remote control. Local control is that users can control metering pump stroke and pulse frequency via panel buttons. Remote control is that users can use remote PC to operate the microcontroller through CAN-BUS to achieve the purpose of controlling the metering pump. Users also can monitor the metering pump through the interface display.In the first chapter of this thesis, the background, current development status and task significance are described in detail. The whole frame and design idea of the controlling system are also given in detail. In the second chapter about chip description, the basic information and the use principle of the chip used are described in detail. In the third chapter about hardware, hardware structure of each circuit module and wiring diagram are detailed. In the fourth chapter about software, system modules in the software realization are described detailedly and programming method of a man-machine interface is introduced with VC++ on PC. The fifth part of this thesis draws analysis and conclusion about the running results. The practical problems encountered and solutions are made a detailed description for debugging and finally discussed about inadequate issues and improvement of the system.
