With the development of mobile communication technology, While meeting the requirements of the higher rate, green energy efficiency network has become a major communication network trends. In the next-generation mobile communication system of LTE-Advanced, the Coordinated Multiple Point technology (CoMP) has become one of the most popular technologies that can further enhance the data rate, and the distributed network architecture based on CoMP technology is also significant in the aspect of improving the network energy Efficiency.The Research is supported by Innovation China UK (ICUK) Projects with London University "Energy efficient mobile networks by interference management".In order to achieve the goal of improving energy efficiency, this paper focused on designing site location and site selection in CoMP BBU +RRU (baseband unit and remote radio unit) network architecture. First this paper introduced the research status and schemes of energy saving in the existing cellular network, and summarized the distributed site location and the site selection algorithm in the distributed antenna system and CoMP system. Against the deficiencies of the existing algorithms, a RRU location algorithm based on energy efficiency was proposed, which gave the best RRU location design in uniform users'distribution and non-uniform users'distribution, and simulation results showed that the algorithms can decrease power loss substantially. Based on RRU location and the interference of the network, a RRU selection algorithm based on interference was also proposed, which considered joint optimization of the RRU selection and resource allocation, and system-level simulation platform was built to verify this algorithm. Comparative analysis of the simulation showed that this algorithm can reduce overall network interference level and improve the overall throughput compared with traditional algorithm.
